The ЭнИ-860 voltage Converter (DC/DC Converter) is designed to power low-power consumers from non-stabilized power sources or from power buses if consumers are spatially disconnected:

  • controllers';
  • heat sinks;
  • normalizing converters;
  • I/o modules;
  •  flowmeters';
  • programmable relay;
  • gauges – regulators;
  • modems and others.

In the case when the input voltage is higher than the voltage set at the output of ЭнИ-860, the device operates as a step down Converter. When the input voltage is lower than the output - automatically starts to work as a step-up Converter.

A converter Voltage consists of:

  • input reverse polarity protection block;
  • input and output disturbance filters;
  • impulse-regulated voltage converter.

Functional diagram ЭнИ-860

VD1 — reverse polarity protection;

C1,C2 — input and output disturbance filters;

R1,R2 — resistors setting up output voltage;

DC/DC — impulse regulated converter.

At the negative voltage on the input "+" a diode VD1 is closed preventing the converter failure.

Condensers C1 and C2 serve as input and output disturbance filters. From the divider R1 and R2 a part of output voltage flows to the control input of the converter where it is compared with a reference voltage. On the voltage difference an output voltage control signal is generated.

The required output voltage setting is performed by the resistor R2. The resistance values of the divider R1 and R2 are selected in such a way that, at the change of the resistance of the resistor R2 from the minimum to its maximum, the output voltage value changes within the limits ±0.5 V of DC nominal voltage.
